We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell personal information. This page explains the little data involved when you use this site.
What this site collects
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard technical data (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to deliver and protect the site. We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without tracking you across other sites. We also keep simple click counts (for example, how many times a booking, tour or email link was clicked, and on which page) with no cookies, no IP address and no identifiers.
Third-party services on our pages
- Google Fonts loads the typefaces, so your browser contacts Google's font servers.
- Open-Meteo provides the live weather on the home page. Your browser requests forecast data from it.
- Instagram links open Instagram, which has its own privacy policy.
Affiliate and booking partners
When you click an affiliate link (see our affiliate disclosure), the partner's site, for example a tour marketplace, a fishing-guide booking site, a hotel or car-rental site, or an online store, may place a cookie or similar identifier in your browser. That lets the partner know you came from us so we can be credited for a booking. Those partners handle any information you give them under their own privacy policies, so please read them before booking.
Bookings for our homes
Booking buttons for our own homes take you to Airbnb. Anything you enter there is handled by Airbnb under its privacy policy.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them. If you write to us, we use your message only to reply and do not add you to any list.
Children
This site is a general travel guide and is not directed at children under 13.
